Purple Martin Migration Spectacular
Friday, August 24, & Saturday, August 25th, 2007
Mauric River Township, Cumberland County, NJ

Viewing Platforms - Free, 6:00 PM to Dusk - Mauricetown Bridge, Route 670, (just west of Route 47 Wawa) Dorchester, Maurice River Township. See thousands of Purple Martins each evening as they ready for migration! View this natural phenomenon from platforms next to the Mauricetown Bridge. Citizens United representatives will provide viewing scopes on site during evening hours. Bring your binoculars!

Friday & Saturday Evening Boat Cruises - Enjoy a Dessert Cruise aboard the "Bodacious". Slowly cruise the sunset with local naturalists and representatives from Citizen's United to Protect The Maurice River. Reservations Are Required - $30.00 per person (approx. 3 hour round trip). Contact Linda Costello at 856-785-1120 x10. Departs Port Norris Marina at 6:15 PM.

DIRECTIONS

From the North: - Take Route 55 South to the end where it merges with Route 47 South. Stay on Route 47 South.
From the East: - Travel West on either Route 40 or Route 49 West to Route 55. Follow directions from the North.
From the South: - Take Route 47 North, thru the Dennisville traffic signals. Stay on Route 47 North, passing The Nature Conservancy Eldora Preserve, Southern State and Bayside State Prisons, continuing North on Route 47.
From the West: - Travel East on either Route 40 or Route 49 to Route 55 South. Stay on Route 55 South to where it merges with Route 47 South. Stay on Route 47 South.
To Observation Platforms & Kayak Departure: - Continue on Route 47 to the intersection of County Routes 670 & 347 (Coastal Gas Station & WaWa). STAY ON ROUTE 47. Turn onto Route 670/Mauricetown Causeway heading West (you will be traveling between Citgo Gas Station & WaWa.) Turn right into the parking area immediately before the bridge.
To Port Norris Marina, Ogden Ave., Port Norris(Bodacious): - Take Route 670 West crossing the Maurice River Bridge to County Route 649 (Mauricetown Bypass). You will pass the back of the N.J.S.P. Station. You will have to stop at the intersection of 633 & 649, make a left continuing on Route 649. Cont. S on 649 to the end, intersects with Main Street (Cty Rte 553). Port Norris Methodist Church will be on your left. Make a left onto Main St. and go approximately 1 ½ blocks to Ogden Rd., make a right onto Ogden, heading toward Shellpile. Follow road bear to the left - Parking lot is on the right for Port Norris Marina and Al's Hideaway.
